We own our own agarwood plantations in Yangjiang and Maoming, Guangdong, and Hainan, selecting only the “shell” portion of Hainan Qinan trees as raw material. The “shell” refers to the shell-like resinous substance formed when the Qinan tree is naturally or artificially injured, and the tree secretes resin to cover the wound. It has a high resin content, concentrated aroma, and rich texture. We independently control the entire process from planting, harvesting, selection to extraction.

🌄 What is Hainan Qinan Shell?

Hainan is China’s most renowned agarwood producing region, and its Qinan is hailed as “the best in the world.” The “shell” is the most precious part of Qinan raw material:

Formation: When the tree is injured, the resin gathers and coats the wound, forming a hard outer layer and an oily inner shell-like resinous body.

Quality Characteristics: The resin in the shell is highly concentrated, resulting in a richer and fuller aroma than ordinary chunks.

Appearance: It appears as a thin shell or tile, with one side being the resin layer and the other side possibly having a small amount of wood attached.

Scarcity: The shell accounts for a limited proportion of the entire tree, making it the essence of Qinan raw material.

Using a time-honored ancient water distillation process, slow distillation over firewood, and low-temperature, long-time extraction. Taking advantage of the concentrated resin in the shell, a gentle heat is used for slow extraction to fully release its deep aroma molecules. No fractionation, no blending, and no accelerated extraction are performed.
